MSDOS SILPHEED JOYSTICK FIX
This S.EXE file has been modified to allow some of the faster IBM 286
or 386 based machines to run Silpheed with their joysticks
(Micro-Channel included). This new file will correct the symptom of
the ship sinking to the lower right hand corner of the screen and not
moving. The fire buttons will work, but you cannot move the ship. I
recommend that you alter your BACKUP copies, or hard disk copy only!
1) Before proceeding make backups of your original game disk #1 if you
are using the 3.5" disks or game disk #2 if you are using the 5.25"
disks.
2) Insert this disk containing the S.EXE file in drive A.
3) Select and perform one of the following copy procedures.
* For single floppy drive systems:
a) Copy the S.EXE file to the backup game disk #1 or #2 (depending
on the size of disks used).
COPY S.EXE B: <Enter>
b) When prompted to insert a disk in drive B, insert your backup
game disk #1 or #2 in your drive and press <Enter>.
* For dual floppy drive systems:
a) Insert your backup game disk #1 or #2 in drive B.
b) Change the logged drive to A.
A: <Enter>
c) Copy the S.EXE file to the backup game disk #1 or #2.
COPY S.EXE B: <Enter>
* For single or dual floppy drive systems with the game installed to
hard drive:
a) Change the logged drive to C. Substitute the correct drive
letter if your hard drive is not drive C.
C: <Enter>
b) Change directory to the Silpheed subdirectory.
CD\SIERRA\SILPHEED <Enter>
c) Change the logged drive to A.
A: <Enter>
d) Copy the S.EXE file to the game subdirectory.
COPY S.EXE C: <Enter>
If your joystick still does not work at this point, rerun the INSTALL
file on your disk #1, and re-install the game, making sure you
highlight "YES" under the joystick selection. Also, be sure that you
are also installing/using the appropriate modified disk.
